My photography journey...

started at a fairly young age playing around with my dad’s old Chinon CX 35mm film camera. More often than not I think I ruined the film that was inside the camera…

After school I decided to get a degree in photography to further my goal in becoming an automotive photojournalist, having an abnormal fascination with anything of the automotive sort.

While studying I quickly realized that I have a much greater interest in photographing people rather than Porsches. That’s when I shifted my focus to documentary photography, being inspired by the likes of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastião Salgado, Raghu Rai and James Nachtwey whose work I encountered while studying.

In 2011 I decided to do a documentary project entitled ‘The Hardship of Poverty’, documenting people living in Pretoria-West. It was an eye-opening project, realizing the power of images in creating awareness as well as how emotionally taxing it can be to photograph people in desperate need.

This was further established on a trip to Calcutta in 2012, capturing images for my documentary project ‘The Influence of the Church in Underprivileged Communities.’

After studies I traveled for 2 years, experiencing ‘the gift of diversity’ in a multitude of different, cultures, languages and nations. Along the way taking pictures to preserve the memories and impressions.

In 2020 I started to study CIMA (Management Accounting) part-time online and in 2021 I started to work full time at an accounting firm in Three Rivers. I'm excited to see how I can merge photography and business to meet client's needs in an unique way.

Today I combine my love for travel, business and people in documenting events where couples, families and friends make memories that they would like to cherish long after the memories have faded. Now that I have my own family, I see the gift of having memories that I can go back to, remembering special moments we shared.

I love giving people that same gift! Using both my training and experience to make it the best gift possible*

FAQ

How do you photograph weddings?

I photograph in a documentary style, behind the scenes and as unobtrusive as possible. I like the way you can capture candid moments in the act without interrupting. Obviously not all people like to be in front of the camera (especially me!) so I will guide the bride and groom where I see the need to.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based in Vereeniging, Gauteng and yes I love to travel! If you want me to photograph your story, it will require a travel fee, depending on where it takes place. But no worries, I always try to find the cheapest way to travel because I would rather you spend that money on your honeymoon!

When will we get our photos?

Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within maximum 4 weeks (sometimes less depending on the season) You can download all the photos from the gallery but also share them. A disc will be couriered to you with the full res images on.

How many pictures will we receive?

For a 8 hours coverage wedding, you will receive between 400 to 600 fully edited images. I always choose quality rather than quantity.

What happens if you for some reason cannot attend the wedding?

Hopefully that will never be the case, but if that situation arises, I will organize another photographer for you. Someone that I trust to do the job well and can deliver what you need, obviously discussing it with you first.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Definitely! Not everyone has the time to edit through a boat load of images and create an album of their special day, so I will gladly do it for you. An album is included in the Deluxe Wedding Package but can be ordered separately on the other two packages as well. More than one album can also be ordered at a discounted rate if the size is the same.
